Overview
The intent of this project was to restore the inscriptions on the WWII and FDR Memorials, including the cleaning and re-coating of the monumental lettering using traditional lithochrome materials and techniques for the National Park Service - National Capitol Region. The incredible significance and prominent location of these memorials made this project a unique opportunity for the AAR staff. This project was completed on schedule and on budget. All work was completed during daylight hours in open and occupied park spaces, with a variety of scaffolding and man-lift set-ups used for access on undulating terrain.
